Work in hospital or clinical settings where, using detailed standard procedures and as directed by physicians or registered nurses, treat patients for a variety of physical maladies to assist in maintaining patient health, preventing and curing illness and injury and alleviating suffering. Observe patients through the duration of their treatment to obtain information on the physical conditions of such patients. Administer injectable, j-tube and g-tube medications. Implementing and monitoring the g-tube and j-tube feedings, including changing g-tubes. Implementing catheterization orders, trach care, deep oral and pharyngeal suctioning. Empty trash, recyclables and dispose of waste including medical waste, spoiled linens and hazardous articles on floors, furniture and equipment. Clean, dust, and polish assigned areas including furniture, metal fixtures and equipment. Clean floors including wash, strip and wax floors, corridors, stairs and stairwells, vacuum and shampoo carpets. Clean and scrub walls, partitions, windows from the inside or outside of buildings, lavatories and locker rooms. Change curtains and drapes, hang pictures and other decorative objects, replace light bulbs, dust or wash light fixtures and high places using ladders and scaffolds.
