Perform routine manual tasks requiring medium to heavy physical effort involving exposure to kinds of weather conditions. Operate plows during winter operations. Serve a role within the Incident Command System to support the department’s response to emergency situations. Must have 1 year of experience in the operation of highway construction, maintenance equipment, or other vehicles in excess of 26,000 Gross Vehicle Weight Rating with air brakes and possess of a Class A or B Commercial Driver License with DOT-specified endorsements, and two NYSDOT equipment operation certifications, in addition to the following three specific certifications: heavy dump truck, one person plowing with single or double wing, and front-end loader. $37390 to $42895 per year. Tree pruner
Prune/trim branches using climbing equipment, rigs ropes and tackle for self, tools, and for limb or tree removal, cut down trees using chain or hand saws, operate Aerial Boom trucks, operate chippers and stump grinders, maintain equipment, perform snow and ice control related duties which include operating a large dump truck with plow and salt spreader, must have climbing and tree removal experience. Serve a role within the Incident Command System to support response to emergency situations. Must have 6 months of experience climbing and pruning trees and meet the physical and medical standards. Must possess a valid New York State Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with no air brake restriction. $41048 to $43753 per year.
